Want to run Spotify promo for January?

Three slots

Written by Jon for January 2nd

Hey, quick thing:

If you want to grow your Spotify, I have three slots available at our ad agency for new clients this month.

These are managed Meta ad campaigns that grow Spotify traffic like this:

Those are all campaigns from the last couple of months. Not all campaigns crush it, obviously, but in general, Meta ads are my favorite Spotify growth tactic. They lead to meaningful engagement and growth. Last year we used them to drive millions of streams.

We cap our roster at 20 clients per month, and we're currently at 17. So this isn't false scarcity.

Tom and I work hands-on with everyone, and I never want to take more than I can handle. There really are only 3 slots, and I'd rather open them to this email list than wait for them to come in from random YouTube leads. To be honest, we usually we run a little hot, but in December – with holiday music season – things slow down and 3 slots have opened up. Hence this email.

Disclaimers: This isn't for everyone. If you...

  • Are successfully running your own ads
  • Can't spend $2,000 without it impacting your grocery budget
  • Don't care about Spotify growth
  • Make AI-generated music

Then it's a no-go.

But if you...

  • Want a proven agency to run your ads
  • Have a marketing budget
  • Want to grow on Spotify
  • Make good music

Then this might be for you – go ahead and hit the button to apply.

(Btw, I'd recommend watching the video on that page if you are interested. I imagine a lot of people won't, and I'll probably end up answering questions that I tried to spell out there, but hey, that's life. Also, if you'd like even more info, you can check out our sales page for examples of case studies, FAQs, etc. And even though I just moaned about it a little bit, please do feel free to email me any questions, too.)

All right, that's all for now. I'll be in touch on Monday with my first real newsletter of the year, in which I'll recap some of the goals and wins that wonderful readers like you have shared. Until then...

Happy New Year! Here's wishing you and your music all the best in 2026.

– Jon

🫆 100% Human Guarantee

I wrote this, not AI.

Today's random photo from my camera roll: My dog looks like a dinosaur when she yawns. She's nicer than her mouth makes her look.

P.S. – Tell me one book I should read in 2026.

P.P.S. – Does that "100% Human Guarantee" section just above look okay in your inbox? It looks fine when I preview the newsletter, but in a bunch of your replies it gets stretched so that the image is like 5 million pixels wide. I'm kind of picky about email aesthetics and would like to avoid sending images that are 5 million pixels wide, so lmk.

Marketing Monday Written by Jon for March 30th I've been rewatching old YouTube videos lately. Maybe this is just a function of getting older, like how everyone thinks the music from their teenage years is the best, but man – nobody can tell me early YouTube wasn't something special. It was gold. See below for a small sampling of videos from the years 2006-2007, as a demonstration: Bo Burnham's first video Charlie Bit My Finger Chocolate Rain Let's get some shoes David Blaine Gold, right? And...

Marketing Monday Written by Jon for March 23rd I owe you some good ol' fashioned marketing stuff. My assumption is that most of you have found yourselves on this email list via some combination of bad luck and an interest in music marketing. I hate to disappoint people, and having spent the past couple of weeks philosophizing about the morality of Spotify and rambling on about the great questions of life in our tech-drenched age, I figure I should probably get back to my lane. So let's talk...

Marketing Monday Written by Jon for March 16th I switched away from Gmail last week. I've used Google's professional email product (along with the rest of their workspace) for the past decade. But as of this morning: I'm off. The switch was, as expected, a bit of a hassle. I had to swap DNS records, get new user accounts for my team, and copy over a bunch of email filtering rules that I'd set up as part of my ongoing (losing) battle against inbox bloat. All told, the move took me about four...
